Work Spotting: Britain’s Got Talent

This week I’ve been spending my evenings watching the talented humans on Britain’s Got Talent. To be honest, it’s not the singers or dancers I’m interested in, it’s the commercial breaks I love – and a good thing too, ITV offer many breaks to fill my appetite for advertising!

Amongst the spots for breakfast cereals and broadband, it’s been fantastic to watch AMV BBDO’s commercial for Snickers, featuring Joan Collins! Earlier this year, my Three Blind Mice colleagues had worked with the ad agency to produce a delicious 2D research animatic for the campaign.

Even now, the ad still makes me laugh – what a diva!

Looking forward to the grand finals this weekend, can’t wait to see what else I’ll spot!

Drench Testing Facility: Office

We were approached by CHI & Partners producer, Kate Bailey to produce a 30 second research animatic for Britvic water brand, Drench.

This animatic was created within a tight schedule of just six days! Threeblindmice artist, Aaron lined and coloured the 2D figures and our motion team sourced office-related props and backgrounds before our in-house editors, George and Sam, created different angles and layouts of the office in photoshop.

Game of Thrones: DVD Launch Party for Season 1

We worked with Cake to produce these visuals for February’s HBO Game of Thrones event, launching Season 1 on DVD and Blu-Ray.

The event held at the Old Vic Tunnels, London on the 29th February 2012, was fully themed around the Game of Thrones; from room decor, food & drink, actors, dancers and traditional music.

We were asked to visualise two concepts for the event, ensuring key features from the hit TV show were portrayed – no mean feat considering the amount of action going on!

The Importance of Visualising

The Importance of Visualising

The Importance of Visualising

Now then, let’s not beat around the bush; Three Blind Mice have been in this business for a long time – 18 years to be exact. During that time we have seen a lot of changes in the way that visualising is done. When we started it was a dirty job, full of angry, bearded men shouting at each other. Oh, hang on, maybe it hasn’t changed at all…

So, why are we still a growing business after all that time? Simple; what we do is still of relevant importance to the advertising, events, design and PR industries. Like it or not, anybody who has to present their creative ideas to a client or colleague needs to get it visualised somehow.

As much as we’d all like to credit our clients or colleagues with imaginations as creative as the minds that created the concept, the best chance that anyone has to sell in an idea is to draw or approximate the finished idea in another way, hence the need for visualising.
